Meet Skyler
I'm Skyler! I'm a home cook and on-air host. I used to be a full-time restaurant reviewer, and through that line of work, I quickly discovered my love for cooking at home. My goal is to give you restaurant quality recipes that are easy to make. I also want to help you feel confident in the kitchen. Believe it or not, I grew up in a house where no one in my home enjoyed cooking. We ate takeout or pre-made frozen meals every single day (hence, why I got into reviewing restaurants.) The bottom line is that I love to eat. And that's why I began to cook. I wanted to spend less money, but enjoy more flavor. Trust me, you'd be shocked to know that you can make the majority of those delicious restaurant dishes in your own kitchen, and not only that, but you can make them better.
You don't need to have any culinary background to enjoy my recipes. For any of the tough ones, I break them down for you and answer any questions through DM on my Instagram (@diningwithskyler.) I also teach through step by step visuals on my YouTube channel, so you can cook with me! Whether you have a fully equipped kitchen, or a hot plate and one electrical outlet, I promise, you can eat like a master chef. The recipes you'll find here are the dishes that I incorporate into my daily life, whether that's a snack while I work from home; a meal for my husband and I; or shareable dishes that I make for special occasions. All of these dishes are inspired by years spent tasting different flavors at restaurants, studying cuisine through my travels, as well as experimenting in the kitchen. Meals with my loved ones are what I look forward to, and I don't like to eat the same thing more than once. So, I get creative. It's my mission to make the kitchen a fun and approachable place for people from all walks of life. I hope you enjoy the menu and we can cook together!
